About Melinda Brewer
Recognized as one of Canada’s foremost wildlife artists, Melinda Brewer has been painting professionally since 1982. She has participated in several wildlife art group exhibitions across Canada and the United States, with the Canadian Nature Federation, World Wildlife Fund, Wildlife Habitat Canada, Atlantic Salmon Federation, Birds in Art and was twice awarded National Artist of the Year with Ducks Unlimited Canada. Her wildlife art is placed in many private and corporate collections throughout North America and England.
Since 1992, Melinda has expanded her repertoire to include equine art. Her paintings have been featured in exhibitions at the Kentucky Derby Museum, the American Academy of Equine Art and in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame. Over the years her sporting art, featuring hounds and foxes have been extremely popular and included in major exhibitions as well. Her sporting art has been included in the Art and the Animal Kingdom Exhibit, Master of Foxhounds Centennial, the prestigious Sporting Art auction and she has had artwork featured at various Hunt clubs in Canada and the United States.
She is a member of the Society of Animal Artists, American Women Artists, a Signature member with the American Academy of Equine Art and is a Master Artist of the Bennington Center for the Arts. She is also the author and creator of Polostars® a book published annually featuring her polo art. She is currently working on the fifteenth volume in the series.
